Glee gets into the “Yuletide” spirit with a Christmas episode and album, plus a Susan Boyle cameo

November 1, 2010

Last season the cast of Glee gave us a little bit of holiday cheer with their cover of Wham’s “Last Christmas”, but this year they’re going all out festive with a Christmas album and a holiday episode titled “Yuletide”!

First, let’s talk about the album, set to release on November 16, and now available for pre-order on iTunes and Amazon. With covers of 12 holiday classics and a special appearance by k.d. lang, Entertainment Weekly has leaked the full track listing along with who’s singing the leads on which song. Get all the details below, but beware of the relationship-related spoilers you may stumble upon by seeing who is singing with who!

1. We Need A Little Christmas (Jenna Ushkowitz, Amber Riley, Chris Colfer)
2. Deck The Rooftop (Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Naya Rivera, Kevin McHale, Heather Morris, and Jenna Ushkowitz)
3. Merry Christmas Darling (Lea Michele)
4. Baby, It’s Cold Outside (Chris Colfer and Darren Criss)
5. The Most Wonderful Day Of The Year (Chord Overstreet, Mark Salling, Kevin McHale, Lea Michele, Chris Colfer, Jenna Ushkowitz, and Heather Morris)
6. Last Christmas (Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, Kevin McHale, Mark Salling, Jenna Ushkowitz, and Chris Colfer)
7. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (Lea Michele, Amber Riley, Naya Rivera, and Jenna Ushkowitz)
8. O Christmas Tree (Matthew Morrison)
9. Jingle Bells (Cory Monteith, Mark Salling, and Kevin McHale)
10. You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch (k.d. lang and Matthew Morrison)
11. Angels We Have Heard On High (Amber Riley)
12. O Holy Night (Lea Michele)

What relationship-related spoilers might I have been referring to, gleeks? Well, I’m thinking that “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” is a very romantic choice for Kurt and new character Blaine – could Blaine (played by Darren Criss) actually be the much-rumoured boyfriend for our boy Kurt? I sure hope so!

Other than the title (“Yuletide”) and the date, only one other bit of news has been leaked about the episode yet – and it’s a juicy one! Susan Boyle, the singer of Britain’s Got Talent fame, will be guest starring in the episode! No concrete details are known about her appearance yet, but a source close to Boyle has said that, “Susan’s appearance will be great fun for all fans of the series.”
