Yesterday was the Fox upfronts, a yearly event where the network announces their fall line-up, talks about their new shows, and generally tries to woo advertisers into advance buying commercial spots on these hot shows. For Glee fans, this meant a sneak peek of the upcoming Lady Gaga-themed “Theatricality” episode, a live performance of “Like a Prayer” (choir and all), and the announcement that come September, our favourite glee clubbers will be hitting our TV screens on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST. This move puts Glee at the beginning of the Tuesday night line-up, and it’s interesting that while Glee is currently being led into by American Idol, next year it’ll be the hit show that tries to rope in new viewers for the shows later on that night!

Fox also announced that Glee will air a special episode in the most coveted time slot of the year: the hour following the Super Bowl on February 6, 2011! The Super Bowl is the most watched TV event of each and every year, so shows with the post-game slot always rake in huge viewership numbers, too. Also, with American Idol returning in the winter, Glee will once again have a mid-season schedule shift. After its special episode following the Super Bowl, Glee will move to Wednesdays at 9 p.m. EST.
