Glee cast rocks the Easter Egg Roll at the White House
On Easter Monday, the cast of Glee, including all 12 members of New Directions and Matthew Morrison, performed at the White House’s Easter Egg Roll. They did two sets, one in the early morning and one a few hours later, and played six songs in each set. The event was livestreaming on the White House website, but if you missed it (or you just want to see it again!), the two videos below cover the entire second performance!
It was really interesting to see the Glee kids performing live, without the aids of autotuning and multiple takes. The result was a bit of a mixed bag, but I still really enjoyed seeing it. I also loved how they did a mix of big group numbers and then also gave way for some smaller players, like how Jenna Ushkowitz did a solo performance of “True Colors.” Amber Riley was undoubtedly the star of the show, however, getting the amazing opportunity to sing the national anthem to kick off the event. What an honour!
Congrats to all the gleeks for such a fantastic, once-in-a-lifetime experience!
