Music Monday: Rachel singing “Hot and Cold” by Katy Perry

April 5, 2010

A bit later in the day than usual, but yes, Music Monday is back again! You get a break from me this week as guest blogger Joanna takes over! Joanna is a British gleek who runs the lovely blog At Home with Mrs M, and a few weeks ago she even did her own post on what songs she’d like to see on Glee (which you should check out here)! Joanna’s pick is “Hot and Cold” by Katy Perry, which she imagines being sung by Rachel about Finn. Check out the song below, and read on for why Joanna thinks Rachel would rock this song on Glee:

I think I’ve found a kindred spirit in Suzie and previous guest bloggers, as I too listen to songs and wonder if they’d be any good for Glee. I sometimes imagine the scene right down to who would be there, what they would be wearing and where they would be. Yes, I realise that makes me a true gleek.

I’ve pictured this song being sung by Rachel. Obviously now Finn knows the truth about Quinn the door is wide open by him and Rachel to pursue a relationship, and I definitely think something will happen again when the season recommences. However, I just don’t think the road to true love is going to be smooth, and can completely imagine Finn messing Rachel about by blowing…hot and cold! I like seeing her feisty side and I think this number would do it well – I imagine Finn standing there like a rabbit caught in the headlights – a look he does very well!

Rachel is very good at doing ballads and big show numbers so it would be easy to pick something like that for her but I’d also like to see her doing more upbeat, modern numbers and I think she could really pull this off.

Thanks for guest blogging on Music Monday this week, Joanna! Do you have a song that you keep imagining being performed on Glee? E-mail me at suzie.gardner@gmail.com and you could do a Music Monday guest post!
