Open casting call for Glee’s second season!

January 10, 2010

The key to succeeding in your audition is to make any one of the above five poses.

Are you a huge Glee fan with acting, singing, and dancing chops to boot? Are you just dying to be the newest gleekster and to get a slushie facial each and every day? FOX has just announced an open casting call for three new cast members to be added to Glee‘s second season, so if you’ve got the skills and the gleekiness, you could soon be walking the halls of McKinley High! Not many details are available as of yet, but here’s what we’ve got so far:

The executive producers of Glee will begin a nationwide casting search this February to fill three new roles that will be added to the show’s second season.

Auditions will be open to professional and amateur individuals between the ages of 16-26. All hopefuls will be able to submit auditions online. Additional details to be announced soon.

Until more details are available, FOX is trying to appease us with audition videos for the casting of Rachel, Finn, Will, Quinn, Kurt, Artie, Mercedes, and Tina, which, admittedly, is a pretty damn awesome way to appease us. Click here to check out all the videos, and see one of my favourites after the jump, plus a bit more casting chatter…

Despite my lack of acting talents, I’m still ridiculously excited to hear more about this casting call, and in particular, to hear more about the three new roles. It’ll be super interesting to learn more about the three new characters and then try to speculate on how they’ll be incorporated in with current characters and storylines.

On a related note, if you’re a Glee fan who’s acting talents are a little more on the behind-the-scenes side, you might want to check out the new Glee roleplayers currently carving a niche for themselves on Twitter. The group has already filled the roles of Rachel (@rachelberryWMHS), Quinn (@Q_Fabray), Tina (@tina_cohenchang), and Artie (@artie_abrams), but are looking to have other gleeks join in to roleplay the other main characters. Interested in playing along and showing off your sassy Mercedes side or your stylish Kurt side? You can contact any of the players through Twitter, or e-mail Rachel Berry at rachelberryWMHS@gmail.com.
