Happy Glee soundtrack day!

November 3, 2009

Glee AlbumIn case you happened to forget, here’s your Glee-ful reminder that Glee: The Music, Volume 1 is now available in stores and online! I just downloaded my copy of iTunes and considering I’ve been spending this week sick and stuck in bed, this purchase was a perfect pick-me-up! Depending on where you live and whether you’re interested in a physical or digital copy, you have a few different options which you might want to consider before you buy yours:

  • Are you a Canadian gleek? Unfortunately, the options for you are somewhat slim. If you’re interested in a digital copy, your best bet is to pop open iTunes where you can purchase the standard 17-track album plus an iTunes exclusive version of Dianna Agron singing “I Say a Little Prayer.” If you’re in the market for a CD, however, there aren’t any special physical versions of this album available in Canada. Either Amazon, HMV, or your local independent music store will all get you the same set of tunes.
  • Are you a U.S. gleek? Well you luckily have the most options available to you for purchase. Again, if you’re looking for a digital copy, go with iTunes and get Quinn’s bonus track. If it’s a CD you’re after and are still itching for some bonus content, head on over to either Target and Wal-Mart. Target is offering three bonus tracks with the album (The Acafellas performing “I Wanna Sex You Up,” Jayma Mays singing “I Could Have Danced All Night,” and Matthew Morrison swoon-inducing version of “Leaving on a Jet Plane”) and Wal-Mart is offering three bonus karaoke versions of “Somebody to Love,” “Gold Digger,” and “Take a Bow.” Of course, if you’re not interested in the fancy stuff, Amazon will have it for you, as well.

Whatever option you choose, I hope you all enjoy the album! I’m about halfway through it right now, and am finding it to be a fun addition to my day. There are definitely some songs that somewhat lose out without their video accompaniment, but it’s still very entertaining overall. Expect my full review later on this week, and I hope to hear what you all think of the album then, too! Happy listening!

Hmm I’m thinking of purchasing on iTunes — cheaper than a CD and I’d just rip it onto my computer anyway. Let me know if it’s worth the purchase!
