Joss Whedon to direct a Glee episode!
Oh, Gleeksters, I am so excited about this that I just can’t contain myself. Entertainment Weekly has just announced that the creator of the best TV musical episode of all-time is going to direct one of the back nine episodes of the first season of Glee. That’s right, Joss Whedon of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly, and Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog fame is coming to McKinley High. Woo!
Being a huge Joss fan, particularly of Buffy and Dr. Horrible, this news has me extremely giddy with excitement. Joss has proved his extreme talent with musical television through both the Buffy episode “Once More With Feeling” and last summer’s surprise hit Dr. Horrible, and I think he’ll do a fantastic job with an episode of Glee. The show’s high school drama is extremely reminiscent of the early seasons of Buffy, and I think that having Joss at the helm of an episode will also help lure some new viewers to the show. Got a Buffy-lovin’ friend who won’t give Glee a try? Here’s your in!
Now, we can only hope that Joss will bring the singing superstar Neil Patrick Harris along with him…as another school’s glee club coach, perhaps? Please, Joss?!
UPDATE: Joss has commented on the fan site “Whedonesque” to let us know what we can expect from a Joss Whedon episode of Glee!
Nice site. There’s some good information on here. I’ll be checking back regularly.
Thanks, Jeff! Glad you like what you see so far, and definitely keep on checking back for more! 🙂
I refuse to get into Glee… Now I’m having second thoughts.
Get into it, Dinh, get into it! I’m sure you’d like it, if you gave it a chance. And this is a very good reason to try!
